Antennae · Todd Hale’s studio and gallery in Richmond
THE ARTIST
A world of collected images.
Todd Hale is a photographer and mixed-media artist who divides his time between Richmond, Virginia, and the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He earned a BFA in Painting and Printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1996. In Richmond, he operates Antennae, a working studio, gallery, and event space that opened in 2019.
For this series, Hale photographed stills from the 1951 animated Alice in Wonderland film on a television screen. He manipulated the images, printed them as color photographs, then cut and rearranged them into compositions finished with epoxy resin. These two works join the Alice in Wonderland Art exhibition at Black Iris Art Gallery.
